Rumored Badr Hari Opponent for May 29th It’s Showtime Amsterdam ArenA

Ahead of the official announcement of Badr Hari’s opponent for the upcoming It’s Showtime Amsterdam ArenA event May 29th, rumors are that negotiations are taking place with Hesdy Gerges (30-7-2). Hesdy Gerges is professional Dutch-Egyptian Heavyweight kickboxer and martial artist, fighting out of Chakuriki Pancration Gym in Amsterdam, Netherlands. He is the current holder of the WFCA World (K-1 rules) Super Heavyweight (+95 kg) title. One thing of interest is that Gerges is currently scheduled to meet Daniel Ghita on the May 29th card.

It’s being reported that Beast of the East in cooperation with Pitbull West Coast, will visit Gdynia Poland on June 12th, 2010. So far only one fight is being announced between top ranked Polish Heavyweight Michal Kita (9-3-0) and the undefeated second Polish ranked Damian Grabowski (11-0-0).

K-1 WGP 2010 in Warsaw (Mar.28.2010) – Superfight Announced

The K-1 World Grand Prix in Warsaw takes place on March 28th, 2010. is reporting that Australian/Polish fighter Paul Slowinski (75-16-1) will meet Latvian Konstantin Gluhov (25-9-1) in a Super Fight.

Paul Slowinski was the 2009 International Kickboxer Super Heavyweight (+95kg) Champion and 2009 WMC Super Heavyweight World Champion. He also won the 2007 K-1 World GP in Amsterdam. He’s trained with the legendary K-1 fighter Ernesto Hoost. Last June in Jamaica, at the “Champions of Champions II” event he defeated Patrice Quarteron (33-5-3) for the WMC Super Heavyweight World Title (Quarteron would later go on to defeat Bob Sapp via KO at the A1 World Combat Cup in November). Slowinski is coming off back-to-back losses as he suffered defeats at the hands of Thor Hoopman (Nov.09) and most recently to Hesdy Gerges (30-7-2) (Jan.2010).

Konstantin Gluhov was the runner up in the 2009 WBKF World Tournament (+93 kg) and on November 22, 2008 Glukhov won the K-1 World Grand Prix 2008 in Riga tournament by three consecutive knockouts over Marco Della Ricca, Pacome Assi and Mindaugas Sakalauskas. He’s also an accomplish MMA praticioner with a 6-4-0 record, winning his last MMA fight against Daniel Omielanczuk at “KSW 12 – Najman vs. Pudzianowski” last December.

ADCC Absolute World Champion to MMA: Braulio Estima

Braulio Estima is a Ze Radiola black belt and world champion in Brazilian Jiu-jitsu. He received his black belt on January 4, 2003. His highest achievements include winning the CBJJ World Championship in 2004, 2006, and 2009, Absolute World Cup Champion 2006, European CBJJ Absolute Champion 2006 and 2009 and ADCC 2007 silver medalist.

At ADCC 2009, Estima won both the -88 kg and Absolute divisions, defeating Andre Galvao (inverted triangle choke) and Xande Ribeiro (injury) in the respective finals.

Braulio is the head instructor and owner of the Gracie Barra Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu academy in Birmingham, England.

He could make his debut as early as this spring in the new promotion, Sh1ne Fights. They held two events in the United States last year (Columbus/Miami) and are looking to run a show possibly in April. Sh1ne includes the likes of Yves Edwards, Luiz Firmino, Brian Foster and Antwain Britt and contracts signed with Din Thomas, Renan Barao, Murilo Rua and former WBA and WBO champion Ricardo Mayorga.

The first FILA Wrestling Golden Grand Prix of the season for freestyle and female wrestling and took place in Krasnoyarsk (RUS) on 29-31 January 2010. The Ivan Yariguin Grand Prix has become a major event in the FILA calendar, attracting an increasing number of participants. 250 wrestlers from 22 countries are now competitin in Krasnoyarsk. European Junior Champion 2008 Yuri Belonovskaya won the 96 kg weight category and the Absolute Ivan Yarygin Cup much to the delight of local fans of Krasnoyarsk.
